18.2.13 - Things are stirring in the Plow camp. New songs are taking shape and whispers of a new record float through the ether.. Stay tuned, good people of the interweb. In the meantime, you can play 'Where's Crusher' in the above photo.
14.8.12 - Okay, yes there's not much to shout about at Plow HQ right now. We're having a quiet rest of the year, but we'll be back (eventually) with something new ..
18.2.12 - Blimey, it's been ages since an update. All is well, if a little quiet, in Plowtown. We're headed down to that London on March 14th to play at What's Cookin', and there's other gigs & stuff in the development stage too. A few recent shows have suffered from bad weather/colds & man flu/general crapness - but we'll keep fighting the twangy, malevolent fight.
25.10.11 - Our bass playing man of the cloth has tended his resignation from Team Plow. Rev. J. McCourt has delighted crowds this year, but he is retreating to his studio to record and release his own crazy electronica music - think of him as a 1980s retro angry Scottish Brian Wilson. He is also soon to depart to the Far East, with a pile of ill-gotten money, where he plans to form and manage his own troop of ladyboys. We wish him well. However, in his place we are delighted to welcome back Sgt. Thorley - Team Plow recording guru, former guitarist, trained killer turned rocket scientist. He'll be with us for the start of 2012.
Elsewhere, a write up for our show at Moseley Folk Fest
'With his acoustic country rock Mr Plow was cited as being the best act some people had seen at the festival, pulling a cover of Into My Arms by Nick Cave out of the bag at the most appropriate moment. Judging by the queue for merchandise at the end of his set, he’d won many heart over. ' (Bohemian Jukebox)
There's a couple more reviews about that I'll post up when I can find them again..
6.9.11 - Netrhythms have reviewed the latest album - not 100% sure if they liked it or not - the reviewer spent more time talking about how he hadn't heard of us before & dissing our press notice (everybody exaggerates a little on press notices ..). There's some faint praise in the review ( or it seems so ..)
31.8.11 - Maverick Magazine seem to quite like the new Mr Plow album. They reckon we 'nail the beat to perfection' and that there's 'much to savour'. There's no online link, so you'll just have to trust us on this ... We've got an interview lined up with them soon too - expect to read our witty, pithy remarks in a few months time.
In other news, Crusher's going to the World Cup, Reverand McCourt is going to Japan, the Apostle is going to the cake shop and Mr Plow himself is going grey.
5.7.11 - The album's out, here's what a few nice folks have said ..
'an absolute joy of a discovery' - The Mad Mackerel
'The spirit of Johnny Cash breathes the gloomy, dry black humor-soaked stories and makes it pulsate' - Country Jukebox (Germany)
14.5.11 - 'Joyful In Song Are We' is out on Monday June 20th. We're having a launch party at The Musician in good ole sunny Leicester. It's a free show, there'll be balloons and cake - why the devil don't you come along?
15.4.11 - So close to a release date now, so close... There's updated gig listings on the Mr Plow Facebook page, and news of freebie giveaways too. It's waay easier to update over there than on here with all this HTML malarkey. That's the record cover (below) ...

17.1.11 - First sneaky peaky of tracks from the new album now up on Myspace and Facebook players. For your listening pleasure is 'Muhamad's Atom Bomb'.
5.1.11 - Team Plow have recruited a new member to their fold. Rev. J. McCourt - bass player, smoker and drinker of international repute will be lurking in the corner of the stage, playing the occasional note and scowling.
On Friday March 11th, the expanded four piece Team Plow will play it's first gig of 2011, at Leicester's famous Donkey venue. The gig is being recorded, for the purpose releasing some or all of the tracks as an accompaniment to the new album. It'd be sooper if lots of nice people could come down to the show (free admission) so that their dull roar and witty comments can be captured for rock n roll posterity.
7.10.10 - Just about to start recording album number two. We're once again in the safe engineering hands of (self promoted) Squadron Leader Thorley. Elsewhere, Mr Plow is running his own Americana shows - 'Satan Is Real' nights at The Donkey in Leicester. We've also recruited a renegade bass player to Team Plow; they'll be unveiled in the New Year.
10.6.10 - There's enough new songs in the bag for Team Plow to start working on a new album, which we'll blummin' well do, after our summer holidays. In the meantime Crusher has taken up Roller Derby (essentially team fighting on wheels), Mr Plow is going to America in August, and The Apostle continues to enjoy cake.
27.2.10 - Mr Plow's words of wisdom are featured in The Sunday Times on March 7th. And we've a big gig - Mr Plow's Country Jamboree, on Friday April 16th in tropical Leicester.Team Plow are back on stage in March, and we'll have new songs to boot. Aaand - we're also reviewed and interviewed in the latest R2 Magazine, in the shops now.
31.12.09 - Mr Plow interviewed on the (web) pages of Americana UK here
10.11.09 - After what seems like aeons/eons/ians, 'The Book of Common Despair' is now available to download on eMusic
22.8.09 - A few nice reviews of Mr Plow at Summer Sundae weekender- EFestivals Line of Best Fit SafeConcerts

12.6.09 - The album's been mastered, and it's going off for pressing this week. Promo being worked on - sumptuous postcards and must have Mr Plow t-shirts!
29.4.09 - Album finished, mixing done. It'll be out in a few months (not sure quite when yet). Mr Plow will be playing Summer Sundae Weekender in Leicester this August. Plus a handful of shows before then, starting in May, see Myspace for details ...
The observant amongst you might have noticed that this site doesn't get updated that often ..... www.myspace.com/mrplowsplace might be a better bet for up to the minute Plow facts.
